Have Good Attendance
Being present in beauty school is extremely important. You should treat it like a job and be there everyday unless you really can’t due to illness, etc. In cosmetology school your progress is based on hours of attendance. You could potentially flunk out if you miss too much school.
Study
Your core classes in cosmetology school are also an important and vital part of your success. You will study subjects like diseases of the hair, skin, and nails, business as it relates to the industry, And professional ethics. These are just a few of the things your core classes will touch on and require you to have a passing grade.

Practice, Practice, Practice
Many students will get discouraged when they aren’t particularly “good” at one thing or even a few things. DO NOT think you will never be good at it. You will. Many people who aren’t very good at one thing in particular practice it so much they become the experts on the subject. So keep your head up, your mannequin handy. Get your hands on as many models as you can until you can do your most challenging service in your sleep. You can do it; It will just take some dedication.
If you follow these do’s and don’ts, your success rate will rise greatly. And a rewarding career will be waiting on the other side. It will take some work, but anything worth having is always going to require some work. Remember have good attendance, study, and practice are your keys to success on this endeavor.
