When it comes to your education, we know you have choices. Do your homework, ask your stylist or esthetician what they recommend, and don’t compromise on investing in your future. If you are still on the fence, here are 10 reasons why Avenue Five Institute might be a good fit for you as a beauty school!

Experienced educators

There is no substitute for experience. Members of our cosmetology department receive annual training from Wella Professional educators. Esthetics and Cosmetology instructors also receive educational instruction via Milady’s Master Educator Program and periodically attend the International Salon and Spa expo in Long Beach, CA. These are just a few examples of how Avenue Five Institute is dedicated to providing salon-professional education built on years of industry experience. Learn more about our staff.

School doesn’t have to be boring. If you don’t hear laughter, if you don’t see smiles, if you don’t feel excited, supported, challenged, and inspired about your future career, you’re not at Avenue Five Institute. Like us on Instagram to keep up with the latest happenings!

6

Student Salon & Spa

Our highly active student salon and spa regularly remains among the top of Yelp’s list of the most-reviewed salons and spas in Austin! There is no substitute for live models, and our busy student salon, spa, and massage clinic is the ideal environment to refine your skills.

7

Employment assistance

Avenue Five Institute provides students with the tools to prepare them for their first job in the industry and many opportunities to interact with salon, spa, and massage therapy professionals. While no program can guarantee employment, we provide support to help you put your best foot forward.

8

Competitions & Photo Shoots

It’s our philosophy that a well-balanced education should include portfolio and studio work. Competitions and photo shoot opportunities involve event planning, working with models and photographers, and providing creative direction. Many of our graduates have submitted photo work to national competitions and earned opportunities to attend exclusive events and award ceremonies at some of the worlds largest industry conventions. Take a look at some of our students’ work at our Photo Gallery.

9

Community Service

It is with a genuine spirit of love and caring that Avenue Five Institute students give back to the community each year. For reasons dear to the owner’s heart, our charity of choice is the The Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin. Any Baby Can, Dell Children’s Hospital, Settlement Home, Homeless Resource Center, Homeless Christmas Drive, Goodwill, Austin ISD, St. David’s Hospital and Lake Travis Youth Association, are a few of our other favorite places to donate our time and resources.
